Ultimed TUP10 Urine Test Strips are diagnostic test strips for rapid urine analysis that enable qualitative and semi-quantitative assessment of several parameters in a urine sample. They are intended for basic health checks or monitoring of certain physiological and pathological changes without the need for laboratory instruments (results can be read visually by comparing the color fields on the strip with a standard color scale).

Purpose and use

Test strips are most often used for rapid diagnosis and monitoring of the urinary tract, metabolism, and kidney and liver function. Results can be evaluated:

• VISUALLY (by comparing the colors of the changes on the strips)
• or INSTRUMENTALLY with appropriate analyzers (e.g. BC401)

Parameters tested by the test

Ultimed TUP10 strips contain 10 reagent areas that react with the following substances in urine:

1. Glucose - may indicate disorders of sugar metabolism;
2. Bilirubin - an indicator of liver function;
3. Ketones – can indicate metabolic changes (e.g., starvation or diabetes);
4. Specific gravity – estimates urine concentration;
5. Blood – presence of blood in the urine;
6. pH – acidity/alkalinity of urine;
7. Protein – presence of protein (can be a sign of kidney disorders);
8. Urobilinogen – a breakdown product of hemoglobin;
9. Nitrites – indicator of bacterial infection;
10. Leukocytes – white blood cells (can be a sign of inflammation or infection).
